Registration Overview

The 9th Annual Chattajack will commence on October 24, 2020 at 8:30AM.

 

Priority Registration for qualifying 2019 Volunteers* will be available shortly after the 2019 race.

General Registration will open at Midnight EST on June 1st, 2020.

VOLUNTEER REGISTRATION

*All 2019 qualified volunteers will be notified via email with instructions to register.

  • No entries will be accepted after the registration window closes.

  • A password will be needed in order to enter.

GENERAL REGISTRATION
  • Price $165

    • price includes $10 Hales Bar Marina (finish line) Usage Fee

  • Divisions: 

    • Unlimited, 14', 12'6 and Tandem SUP

    • Unlimited, 14' and Stock Prone Paddleboards

    • Surfski and Tandem surfski

    • Kayak and Tandem kayak

    • OC-1, OC-2, OC-6

    • C-1, C-2, C-4

  • Entry requirements: The race directors may refuse entry to anyone who cannot prove they are capable of paddling ten miles in less than 2.5 hours.  

Chattajack is honored to be working with members of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians to ensure a successful event serving to educate our participants in our area's rich Cherokee history and culture.

REGISTRATION POLICIES

 

WAITING LIST
In the event that the race sells out, we will maintain a waiting list.  If other paddlers cancel, we will contact individuals on the waiting list to register.
When a name rolls to the top of the waiting list that racer is notified, and will receive a link to register that is valid for 3 days. After 3 days, if the link is not used, the spot will roll to the next person and so on.


REFUND POLICY 
*UPDATED TO REFLECT DELAYED 2020 REGISTRATION DATE*
If the race sells out and there are paddlers on the waiting list willing to take your spot, we will offer a refund according to the following schedule:

Up to and including August 15th: 75% refund of registration fee  (excluding Run Sign Up service fee)

August 16th – October 6th: 50% refund of registration fee  (excluding Run Sign Up service fee)
After October 6th: no refunds

​If we do not have paddlers on the waiting list willing to accept a race entry, then unfortunately we will not be able to offer a refund. The refund is only issued after someone on the waiting list accepts and registers for your spot.

Chattajack does NOT offer racer-to-racer bib transfer or deferrals to the following year.

 

COVID-19 REFUND POLICY FOR INTERNATIONAL ATHLETES  *UPDATED FOR CHATTAJACK 2020*
International athletes registered for CJ 2020 who are unable to travel out of their home country, or into the United States, due specifically to travel restrictions, will receive a full 100% refund upon notifying the race officials.

 


CANCELLATION POLICY
With the exception of wait list transfers, entries are non-refundable and non-transferable. In the event the race is cancelled due to extreme weather, fire, or for some other unforeseeable event outside of our control, we cannot offer refunds.

COVID-19 CANCELLATION POLICY  *UPDATED FOR CHATTAJACK 2020*
In the event that the CDC, Hamilton County Health Dept, Governor of TN, Mayor of Chattanooga, Mayor of Hamilton County, or US Coast Guard deem that Chattajack must be cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic we will offer the following options:

 

If the race must be cancelled on or before September 21st:

  1. Donate. Donate entry fee to the Tennessee River Gorge Trust. Each year Chattajack supports the mission of the TRGT. They work to preserve the gorge and surrounding ecosystem. TRGT is a 501(c) non-profit, so your donation is tax-deductible.

  2. Transfer to 2021. Chattajack 2021 is scheduled for October 23rd 2021, and we would love to have you back with us.

  3. Receive a refund. You will receive a full 100% refund for any registrations and merchandise purchases, less any transaction service fees charged by Run Sign Up. Please allow 4-6 weeks for all refunds to be processed. 

If the race must be cancelled AFTER September 21st:

  1. Donate. Donate entry fee to the Tennessee River Gorge Trust and to cover race infrastructure costs lost in the late cancellation. Each year Chattajack supports the mission of the TRGT. They work to preserve the gorge and surrounding ecosystem. TRGT is a 501(c) non-profit, so your donation is tax-deductible.

  2. Transfer to 2021. Chattajack 2021 is scheduled for October 23rd 2021, and we would love to have you back with us.

  3. Receive a refund. You will receive a 75% refund for any registrations and merchandise purchases, less any transaction service fees charged by Run Sign Up. Please allow 4-6 weeks for all refunds to be processed. 
     

IMPORTANT: If the race must be cancelled, we will email a form to designate your preferences. Thank you again for your continued support and understanding. We appreciate every one of you as we manage through this together.
